41 Days til Disneyland – Sleeping Beauty Castle!

We are down to Day 41 in our Countdown to Disneyland series!  The time continues to fly on by, and each day is a day closer to our trip! Today, we are taking a look at the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough, which sounds really cool to me!  Let’s take a little more in-depth look at all it has to offer us.

The Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough is a winding path that tells the story of Princess Aurora and the evil Maleficent!  This winding pathway includes stairs to climb, sections of the castle to see, and more!  As far as I can tell, this is an attraction unlike anything at Walt Disney World I’ve ever seen!

While the Castle opened on July 17, 1955, of course, the Castle wasn’t open for walking through until 1957.  However, it has been open ever since!  There have only been two times that the Castle’s famous drawbridge has been used: once at the opening of Disneyland, and once in 1983 at the rededication of Fantasyland.

As far as I’m concerned, and maybe I’m reading too much into this — if I am, please let me know — but anyway, as far as I’m concerned, the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough almost sounds like a built in “behind the scenes” tour all by itself!  Tell me, please, what do you think of the Walkthrough? Is it cool, or am I romanticizing the experience?  Please let me know in the comments, and thanks!
