The Golden Zephyr — located at the Paradise Pier section of Disney’s California Adventure — is our choice for Day 54 in our Countdown to Disneyland series! Billed as a return to the sci-fi serials from the 1920s, this ride is meant for you to use your imagination and picture yourself fighting off Martians as you circle the red tower in the middle of the attraction!
To be honest with you, I’m not certain if I will ride this or not. Usually rides like this are not my favorite, but I think I could be persuaded to ride it twice — once during the day, and once at night. For me, the beauty of that ride would be to be able to get some cool shots that you don’t often see.
In my opinion, the gleaming chrome cars, the neon lights, and the spinning of the attraction, especially at night, really bring out the best in this attraction for me. I can see myself taking many photos of this attraction at night. I only hope that I get some that look like this one below!
