Hello everyone, and welcome to day 65 in our countdown to Disneyland! Today’s featured attraction is The Disneyland Story featuring Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln!
Walt Disney was always interested in the life of Abraham Lincoln, to the point that he even recited the Gettysburg Address to his elementary school class! Abraham Lincoln first appeared in a Disney attraction at the Worlds Fair in 1964, and The Disneyland Story opened at Disneyland in 1965. It is purely by coincidence that I’m showcasing this for day 65 of our countdown.
Over the years, the Audio-Animatronic characters have really been enhanced to the degree that President Lincoln does so much more realistic movement now then he ever did before!
In addition to Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, the world famous Voices of Liberty — just like the ones that you can find in the American Adventure Pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase — perform at various times throughout the day before the show starts. If you have never seen them before, make sure you check them out, because they are incredible!
