Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
Over by Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is a large resort that has been through some serious changes over the last few years. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is the first resort that Cindy, Sophie, and I stayed at when we started staying on property at Walt Disney World. It’s a big resort, but depending on the type of room you go for, it has a small world feel to it.
Coronado Springs Resort is one of the few resorts on Disney property that features convention space — 220,000 square feet, to be exact! It is because of the convention space that Coronado Springs has developed a reputation as being a “business” resort for Walt Disney World. I would urge you, though, to keep them in mind, because that is not entirely accurate in my opinion.
One of the biggest changes to happen at Coronado Springs is the addition of the Gran Destino Tower, which was completed in 2019. The tower has completely changed the look of Coronado Springs, and when you stay in a tower room, depending on where your room is, you can see all the way over to Epcot. Check out these photos from my friend Tabitha from MouseCation!
I last stayed at Coronado Springs Resort in 2018, when I was there for the Pixie Conference that my agency has. This was after the rooms had been renovated, but before the Gran Destino Tower was completed. The rooms are really well done, with modern features and comfortable bedding. The resort even gave everyone staying there at the time a nice surprise gift as their way of saying thanks for putting up with the work! Check out those photos and all of the room shots here in our gallery below.
As a resort, Coronado Springs is one of my favorite resorts on Disney property. It has great accommodations, well apportioned amenities, a great pool area, and it’s own unique theming that sets it apart from other Disney properties. If you are looking for a good Moderate category resort, look no further!
