Epcot Candlelight Processional
Hello everyone, welcome back for the conclusion of our look at our trip to Disney this past December. If you missed it, the first day we talked about arriving at the resort and resort hopping. Part two was about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and today we’re gonna conclude our luck by looking at our day at Epcot on Saturday, December 3.
Our morning started off by taking bus transportation from Port Orleans Riverside to Epcot and when we got there we met up with Steph and Shane and the kids. The first thing that I wanted to do after we entered the park was ride Spaceship Earth. I know that sometimes it’s better to wait and ride Spaceship Earth later in the day but for me I wanted to ride it now so that’s what we did. We had gone earlier on the my Disney experience app and we had made a boarding selection for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind which was so cool because we were able to get it. More on that later though. Throughout the day we did various rides. We did The Seas with Nemo and Friends, we did Journey to Imagination with Figment and on and on and on we did a lot of attractions to start with.
We did have some time restrictions that we need to be aware of for this day. First, we had a 4:10PM dinner reservation at The Garden Grill Restaurant in the Land Pavilion. Also, we had our boarding zone for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
After consulting our My Disney Experience app, we decided to head over to France to take a ride on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. We weren’t doing Genie+ so we went right into the standby line. The line seemed to be very slow moving, which gave me a little anxiety because we were quickly approaching our time for our boarding zone return time for Guardians. However, we did make it through the line in time and everyone really enjoyed Remy’s.
After we finished Remy’s, it was time to head over to Guardians. We had two in our party that weren’t going to join us because of little ones, so two of our friends were able to take their place. As we were in line, though, it felt like the line was taking forever to move through, and that was nerve wracking because it was coming right up against our time for dinner at the Garden Grill. That dinner reservation was important because it included our preferred seating for the Candlelight Processional.
In the end, Stephanie went on ahead with her youngest, and Cindy and Sophie stepped out of the line to make sure the dining reservation was kept. When the rest of us rode Guardians — which was incredible, by the way, and I highly recommend it — we scooted on over to make our dinner reservation.
The Cast Members at the Garden Grill were incredible, so helpful! We actually had two separate reservations, ours at 4:10PM and Stephanie’s at 4:50PM, and they sat us all together and we enjoyed a lot of great food and even better company and character interactions! Here’s some of the photos we got from dinner.
After dinner was over, we had just enough time to ride Living with the Land with our friends Chris and Chrissy from Billy’s Closet of Magic before we had to head over to get in the line for the Processional. Let me tell you, the American Adventure Amphitheater holds a lot more people for the shows that they have there than I realized! We were in a line that went all the way around to Morocco, and despite that, we were seated fairly well in to the theater! It amazed me.
What about the show? Well, if you have never experienced it before, I strongly recommend it. This was our first time seeing it, and we absolutely loved it. People, I don’t know where you are in your faith, but Scripture was read at Walt Disney World — God’s Word was proclaimed, and after each line of Scripture, the orchestra and choirs would perform songs that tied right in with the story. It was absolutely phenomenal, and I can’t wait to see it again. Other than seeing the absolute joy in my families faces when Robin got to see her granddaughters and daughter and son-in-law, and their joy as well at seeing her, other than that, the Candlelight Processional was hands down my absolute favorite part of our trip. Here are a few photos of the show.
Lastly, I’d like to share with you just a small snippet of the performance that we saw. Our guest narrator was Whoopi Goldberg, and she did a phenomenal performance. Have a look, and enjoy!
