Tucked away off of Main Street, U.S.A. is a small, off the beaten path little table service restaurant known as The Plaza Restaurant. To locate it, head down Main Street, U.S.A. towards Cinderella Castle; when you reach the area where The Hub begins, navigate to your right, towards Tomorrowland and the Tomorrowland Terrace, and you will walk right by The Plaza Restaurant.
Cindy, Sophie, my Mom, and I chose this restaurant to eat at for our day in the Magic Kingdom on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021. It was the first time we had actually ever eaten at the Plaza; prior visits to the area never extended beyond the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, where we would sometimes stop for ice cream. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were quick to tell them that we had never eaten here before, to which our Cast Members told us, “It won’t be your last time, either!”
I never realized this, but the Plaza Restaurant is surprisingly small, as you can see in the image below. I never realized that the dining room would be that small, but I will attest that the food makes it worth stopping here!

The table we had provided an excellent view of Cinderella Castle.
For dinner, I had the Cheese Steak Sandwich, which comes with Shaved Beef, Peppers, Onions, and Provolone Cheese. The only thing that was unusual to me about it was that the provolone cheese was a sauce, not slices of cheese. I didn’t care for it as much that way, and next time I would hold the cheese sauce and ask for a side of mayonnaise instead. The beef, onions, and peppers were perfectly done.
Sophie had the Plaza Club, Cindy had the The Plaza Burger, and my Mom ordered the Grilled Chicken Strips off of the kids menu. Click the link to check out the entire menu.
Knowing how good the ice cream desserts are at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, I was determined that I was going to enjoy a dessert here, and that’s just what we all did. Cindy ordered the incredible Signature Chocolate Cake, which she and Mom shared off of.

Sophie was really interested in two desserts — the Brownie Sundae as well as The Plaza Restaurant Sundae. What she really wanted was the Brownie Sundae with some of the toppings from the other sundae added in, and our waitress, Aura, gladly indulged her. So Sophie ordered the Brownie Sundae, and had chopped nuts, whipped cream, and a cherry added to it. It made for quite a good dessert for Sophie.

Lastly, my dessert, which was absolutely incredible and may very well make an appearance in next week’s podcast for On the Road with Mickey. I had my eye on this from the moment I looked at the menu; it is because of this dessert that I ordered the cheesesteak. The dessert I had was the Banana Split.

For our first time eating at the Plaza Restaurant, it was a huge success in my opinion, and my family agreed with me. If you are looking for something different on your next Magic Kingdom visit, give the Plaza Restaurant a try! You might find a new favorite!
